Pittsburgh Announces Modified Citiparks Schedule and Free Childcare for Election Day

PITTSBURGH, PA — In an announcement published October 30, City of Pittsburgh officials detailed modified Citiparks operations and free childcare services for students and families on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

With Pittsburgh Public Schools closed for the day, four Citiparks Community Recreation Centers—Ammon, Jefferson, Magee, and Ormsby—will open at 8:30 a.m. to provide free childcare with lunch included. Families are asked to register directly with their selected recreation center to assist staff with meal planning, staffing levels, and educational programming coordinated alongside community partners.

Several Citiparks facilities will close for Election Day, including the Arlington, Brookline, Paulson, Phillips, Warrington, and West Penn recreation centers, as well as the Beechview, Greenfield, and Hazelwood Senior Healthy Active Living Centers. Healthy Active Living Centers in Washington, Sheraden, and the South Side will operate on a lunch-only schedule without regular activities, while all other municipal recreation and senior centers will follow standard hours.

City officials also encouraged residents to finalize voting plans for November 3, noting that polling places across Allegheny County will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters can check their assigned precinct through the Pennsylvania Department of State and may deliver completed mail-in or absentee ballots to designated county return sites through November 2, or to the County Office Building on Forbes Avenue until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
