Pittsburgh Adds New Attractions for 2026 Independence Day Celebration

PITTSBURGH, PA — The City of Pittsburgh on Wednesday announced new attractions, entertainment and community partnerships for its 2026 Independence Day celebration, which officials say will mark America’s 250th birthday with the event’s most robust lineup to date.

Mayor Corey O’Connor joined the Department of Parks & Recreation, Piatt Companies and the Veterans Leadership Program for the opening of the Piatt Companies Salute to Service Wheel on the North Shore. The city said the new attraction opened to the public July 1 at 2:00 p.m.

According to the city, 50% of ticket sales from the wheel will benefit the Veterans Leadership Program. Additional North Shore activities on the PNC Great Lawn will include a DJ and a red, white and blue hot air balloon.

The city said the July 4 celebration will include performances by local and nationally recognized musicians on five stages across Pittsburgh, along with family-friendly activities, veteran resources and a fireworks show launching from four locations. Inside Point State Park, the BNY Main Stage will feature Plain White T’s as headliner, while the Western PA Chevy Dealers Celebrate the USA Stage will spotlight additional local performers.

Officials said Point State Park will also include the Veterans Wellness Corner presented by Trulieve dispensary, the CitiParks Family Fun Zone, the “Made Here” handmade market and line dancing sessions at the fountain. Entertainment and food options will also extend to Liberty Avenue and the North Shore, while Grandview Park Bandstand will host musical acts throughout the night.

The city said this year’s celebration begins at 4:00 p.m. in all locations, with fireworks scheduled for 9:35 p.m. Full schedules and additional event information are available at www.pittsburghpa.gov/july4.
