PITTSBURGH, PA — The City of Pittsburgh is hosting a major day-long Independence Day celebration today, July 4, 2026, featuring five stages of live music, family attractions, and the largest fireworks show in municipal history to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The official events kick off at 4:00 p.m. with entertainment spread across Point State Park, the North Shore, and Mount Washington. Attendees will enjoy performances by local artists and national acts, including a concert by the Plain White T’s on the BNY Main Stage at Point State Park. Neighborhood parks will also host community events throughout the afternoon.
Event Schedule and Attraction Highlights:
- Main Stage Concerts: Music begins at 4:00 p.m. at the Point State Park BNY Main Stage, PNC Great Lawn on the North Shore, and Grandview Park Bandstand in Mount Washington. Summer Soul Line Dancing instruction will also take place.
- North Shore Attractions: A family fun zone, veterans wellness space, food trucks, and the Piatt Companies Salute to Service Wheel will offer activities and aerial views of the city.
- Historic Fireworks Finale: Beginning at 9:35 p.m., the city will launch its largest fireworks display yet from barges positioned on all three rivers and select downtown rooftops.
