PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Strip District after a woman was found critically wounded near the intersection of 27th Street and Liberty Avenue.
Zone 2 officers were dispatched shortly after 10:40 p.m. and found the woman unresponsive on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound, according to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. Officers performed CPR until Pittsburgh EMS arrived and transported her to a hospital, where she died a short time later.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene. Police said three people were detained and taken to headquarters for questioning by Violent Crime Unit detectives. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials did not announce any arrests in the release.
