Pittsburgh Police Investigate Brownsville Road Shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police are investigating a shooting reported Tuesday night on Brownsville Road that left an adult man hospitalized in stable condition, according to a city Public Safety Blotter release.

Zone 3 officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Brownsville Road at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 25 after receiving reports that a man had been shot. Officers initially could not locate a victim or a crime scene in the area.

About 20 minutes later, a neighboring jurisdiction told Pittsburgh police it had located a man matching the victim description. Police said the man had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was conscious, alert and speaking with officers and medics.

Pittsburgh EMS transported the man to an area hospital in stable condition. Police said the victim was not cooperating with investigators and that a crime scene had not been found as of the city’s release.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The city said the investigation remains ongoing.
