PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh public safety officials said police, EMS and fire crews were dispatched just after 4:15 p.m. to the 7300 block of Frankstown Avenue in Homewood for reports of a shooting following an altercation between two males.
Arriving units located a male victim with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and chest, according to the City of Pittsburgh public safety blotter. Medics transported him to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
Detectives from the Mobile Crime Unit were called to process the scene. The city said there were no arrests at the time of the release.
Frankstown Avenue was set to be closed between Collier Street and Sterrett Street while Violent Crime Unit detectives investigated.
The case was listed by the city as a public safety incident, with Cara Cruz named as the contact on the official release.
