PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police promoted three members during a ceremony in Council Chambers on Monday, June 22, swearing in two new sergeants and one assistant chief.
Detectives Gabriel Lambright and Kevin Clark were promoted to the rank of sergeant. Commander Lori McCartney was promoted to assistant chief after a 33-year career with the Bureau of Police.
Chief Jason Lando congratulated all three promoted members and said promotions recognize past accomplishments while also reflecting the trust placed in leaders for the future. He pointed to professionalism, integrity and dedication to service as part of the ceremony’s message.
Public Safety Director Sheldon Williams told the promoted members that new ranks come with greater responsibility. He said officers will look to them for guidance, support and example, while the community will judge the department by how its leaders act.
Mayor Corey O’Connor said Pittsburgh is committed to selecting strong leaders for the Bureau of Police and thanked the promoted members for continuing to serve city officers and neighborhoods.
