Pittsburgh Hosts Free Youth World Cup Soccer Clinics at Acrisure Stadium

PITTSBURGH, PA — The City of Pittsburgh, in partnership with CitiParks and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, is hosting a series of free youth soccer clinics at Acrisure Stadium as part of the ongoing Pennsylvania World Cup Fan Zone celebrations.

The clinics are designed for youth players aged 14 and under, offering them the unique opportunity to develop their skills on the field under the instruction of professional coaches from the USL champion Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy. The multi-day training sessions run during the holiday weekend, with specialized slots on July 4, July 5, and July 9.

Soccer Clinic Schedule and Details:

  • Weekend Sessions: Training sessions were held on Saturday, July 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Sessions continue today, Sunday, July 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium.
  • Special Olympics Clinic: A dedicated training clinic in partnership with Special Olympics Pennsylvania is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
  • World Cup Fan Zone: The youth clinics are integrated into the city’s larger Fan Zone event, which features live tournament watch parties, outdoor music stages, and community activities.

While participation in the Riverhounds Academy clinics is completely free, advance registration is required due to capacity limits. Parents can sign up their children and find detailed session maps through the municipal portal or the Pittsburgh Riverhounds website.
