Pittsburgh Police Investigate Evergreen Road Crash That Left Driver Critically Injured

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police are investigating a single-vehicle crash on Evergreen Road that left a woman critically injured Thursday afternoon.

Zone 1 officers responded at approximately 1:30 p.m. to the 3900 block of Evergreen Road. Preliminary information indicates that the driver crossed onto the other side of the roadway before the vehicle struck a utility pole, according to the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter.

Rescue 2 and Medic 10 used a hydraulic rescue tool to free the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Pittsburgh EMS transported her to a hospital with a serious head injury. Officials described her condition as critical.

The Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The city release did not identify the driver or provide additional information about the circumstances leading to the crash.
