PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting reported early Friday in the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue.
City officials said Zone 2 officers responded at approximately 3 a.m. and found an adult man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the back. Officers immediately provided first aid until Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS paramedics arrived.
The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at approximately 3:40 a.m., according to the city. Officials did not identify him in the initial release.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene, and homicide detectives continued the investigation. The city had not announced an arrest or released additional circumstances in its initial notice.
