Pittsburgh Adjusts Outdoor Pool Schedule as Summer Season Winds Down

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh is adjusting its outdoor pool schedule as the summer season winds down, with six CitiParks pools set to remain open through Labor Day.

The city said outdoor pools will continue on their current schedule through Sunday, August 16. Beginning Monday, August 17, the number of open pools and their operating hours will be reduced as many seasonal lifeguards return to school.

Bloomfield, Highland, Jack Stack, Magee, Moore and Ream pools are scheduled to remain open through Labor Day on September 7. Residents should check the city’s pool website for current operating hours before visiting.

CitiParks Director Eric Sloan thanked lifeguards, aquatics staff and other city teams for maintaining pool access during the summer. Mayor Corey O’Connor said Pittsburgh opened 17 outdoor pools this season, including the long-shuttered Homewood Pool, and added new chairs and loungers at outdoor facilities.

The city also plans to continue aquatic programming into the fall. Oliver Bath House is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, September 8, with updated hours to be posted online.
