PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh Police are investigating a residential burglary reported early Wednesday in the Greenfield neighborhood.
Zone 4 officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Greenfield Avenue at approximately 12:15 a.m. on August 26 after a report of a burglary in progress, according to the city public safety blotter.
Two residents told police they were on the second floor when they heard a loud noise at the front door. They then encountered a man on the stairwell landing. Police said the man ran from the home toward Murray Avenue after being confronted.
The residents reported that vehicle keys were stolen, and the front doorway was damaged during the break-in. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene, and detectives are continuing the investigation.
