Pittsburgh Emergency Responders Dispatched to Semi-Truck Incident on Sunday Street

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS personnel were dispatched to the 1100 block of Sunday Street in the city’s California-Kirkbride neighborhood on Friday morning after receiving reports of a semi-truck over a hillside.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. and quickly determined that the vehicle was not over the hillside. The truck was instead found wedged between a retaining wall and a utility pole. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Detectives with the Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to conduct an inquiry into the collision. The driver indicated to investigators that he mis-navigated the roadways. Authorities stated that no charges are expected at this time.

Crews from McGann and Chester Towing arrived at the scene to utilize a crane to free the vehicle. Drivers were advised to avoid the area while the operation is underway.
