PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh residents who want a say in how Community Development dollars are used have a refreshed place to start, after the city updated its public participation information this week.
The city’s Community Development page says the opportunities are intended for residents of Pittsburgh because the funds are used within city limits. The page points residents toward current notices, public hearings, published planning documents and other materials tied to local funding priorities.
Residents can submit written comments on any topic to Kelly Russell at the City of Pittsburgh, 414 Grant Street, Room 501, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. The city also lists a phone comment option at 412-255-2667.
The page explains that public notices and comments include newspaper advertisements and information on topics currently open for public comment. Public hearings, meanwhile, are described as a way for city residents to voice concerns and advocate for funding priorities before final decisions are made.
The update also directs residents to sign up for the city’s mailing list to hear about new opportunities as they happen and to review Community Development documents such as annual plans, five-year plans, reports and analyses when they are posted for public comment.
