Missing 81-Year-Old Pittsburgh Man Located Safely

PITTSBURGH, PA — An 81-year-old Pittsburgh man who was reported missing from the Manchester neighborhood has been located safely, city public safety officials announced.

The City of Pittsburgh updated its Public Safety Blotter on August 28 to say Jerry Craig was found shortly before 11 a.m. Officials thanked members of the public who shared information during the search.

Police had issued an urgent appeal after Craig left his home on foot late Thursday night. The earlier alert said he was believed to have dementia and aphasia and did not have access to a phone, vehicle or public transportation.

The safe-location notice resolves the public appeal covered in The Pittsburgh Times’ earlier report. The city’s update did not provide additional circumstances about how or where Craig was found.
