PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh officials and neighborhood partners launched a new push Monday to bring housing proposals to Larimer, opening a Request for Interest focused on scattered-site lots across the community.
Mayor Corey O’Connor joined the Larimer Consensus Group, leaders from the Urban Redevelopment Authority and Councilman Khari Mosley to promote the initiative, which is aimed at rebuilding housing on individual lots owned by the City of Pittsburgh or the URA.
The city said applicants can submit ideas for new, high-quality housing or mixed-use residential opportunities. O’Connor said many of the vacant lots once held homes, and that the effort is intended to restore housing options while bringing additional investment to Larimer.
K. Chase Patterson of the Larimer Consensus Group said the neighborhood has long awaited a coordinated effort to activate vacant and dilapidated land, adding that community leaders look forward to working with the administration and the URA to turn Larimer’s community plan into a lived reality.
The Request for Interest opened Monday and will remain available through Aug. 24, 2026, giving developers and other applicants time to submit proposals for the neighborhood sites.
