PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh fire investigators determined that an overnight blaze affecting three residential units in Hazelwood was intentionally set, city public safety officials said Wednesday.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire was dispatched at about 1 a.m. to the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from second-story windows in two structures, according to the city.
Crews brought the one-alarm fire under control at approximately 3 a.m. Searches of the buildings found no occupants, and officials reported no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections responded to the scene. The Fire Investigation Unit also responded and classified the cause as incendiary. The city’s release did not identify a suspect or announce any arrests.
